next stop on the gravy train was memphis. we hit up the national civil rights museum which was housed in the motel where MLK was assassinated (best museum i've seen hands down.), strolled down beale street, ate memphis bbq ribs and friend dill pickles, walked along the mighty miss(issippi river), stayed in the most terrifying super 8 motel of all time (haunted plantation building behind it, loud scary men staying all around us, stink bug on the floor, mysterious hair in the shower- so much scary. we baracaded the doors with anything that wasn't bolted down), got harassed by a man in a cosby sweater, and took pictures outside of graceland ( too expensive to go in but i did get a cool elvis clock. his hips swing back and forth. suhweeetttt.) overall assesment of memphis: ghetto. and we live in north philly. so that's sayin' a lot.
