and may your wishes all be simple

several orders of business:
1. i got my hp ticket! now i have to work out my costume. i'm torn. on one hand, i just want to be hermione because i have the robe (and i never get to wear it- and it's really nice. lined. with a hood. thick material. beautiful stuff) and never has there ever in the history of media been a character with bushy brown hair. so i feel like i should take advantage of it. on the other hand, i feel like getting creative (all my friends are going pretty hard this year). if i go the creative route, i'm either going to be sirius black's mother's portrait (and pretty much just scream at people) or rufus scrimgeour (my brother has a lion costume so i would just wear that with my robes.) the real shame is the fact that i have to choose just one costume. maybe i'll do costume changes. or invent holidays so i can dress up like a wizard more often.
2. i wore something that wasn't jeans and a t-shirt! it was a t-shirt and my mom's old striped skirt from the limited with my grandma's old belt! look at me go!
3. today's salvation army haul looks great in pictures (and in real life). inventory: one black and white short sleeved, button front dress with pockets (yes!); one multi-colored houndstooth pencil skirt; one pixelated floral skirt that needs to be hemmed a bit but has pockets (yes! yes!); one floral button front skirt with a certain 1950's flair; set of four glasses featuring a jockey and horse; one pyrex orange juice jug. beautiful day.
4. friendship bread is so fucking good. i can't stop eating it.

also:
i always associate summer with america. i think summer is the most american season. maybe it's because of the fourth of july, but everything i associate with summer i associate with american. i even feel more patriotic.
